PRESS RELEASE: JULY 2008
Emona showing off new high performance oscilloscopes at QMan
Emona Instruments will demonstrate its new Rigol DS1000B series 4 channel digital storage oscilloscopes at Stand 2111 during the 2008 Queensland Manufacturing Technology Exhibition (QMan) at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre from October 21-23.
Emona Instruments claims the new DS1000B series of 4 channel oscilloscopes provide advanced features at a price about 20% cheaper than competitors. The DS1000B series comes in three models, from 60MHz to 200MHz bandwidth, 4 channels, up to 2GS/s sample rate and 16K memory. The DS1000B also incorporates Rigol’s proprietary ASIC front end which replaces all traditional mechanical relays to provide superior performance with longer product life.
The DS1000B series are also the first scope in its class to be certified by the LXI consortium, providing the flexibility of programming over the internet. In addition to digital filtering, pass/fail testing, record and playback, the DS1000B series also provide logic triggering across the 4 channels and alternate triggering providing a true dual time-base scope. They also provide the most complete set of interface options in their class, including LAN, USB and 2 x USB host.
Also on display will be HotShot HD thermal imagers with 640 x 480 resolution, which go beyond traditional point-and-shoot thermal imaging cameras, combining quality image production with powerful new, yet simple-to-use, features, which allow data to be entered and logged onsite. A QWERTY keyboard is used to enter descriptive image file names, asset locations and inspection comments. Meanwhile, pull-down menus on a personal data assistant (PDA) type touch screen record equipment type, diagnosis, repair recommendations and severity codes.
This is regarded as more reliable, accurate and efficient than traditional image and inspection information recording methods such as hand-written notes. It also means data does not have to be re-entered back in the office. Other products on display will include the Seaward PowerTest-1557 multi-function installation tester, and the ProTag Optima testing and tagging system, which allows testing of portable appliances and RCDs
